TORONTO — Liberty Entertainment Group (LEG) is unveiling Ontario’s only fully licensed private wine club and storage facility, the Bovine Wine Club, opening in November 2024. Named after the buzzy, celebrity-filled, fine-dining destination recently opened to acclaim earlier this year in Toronto’s historic Union Station, the new and exclusive, members-only space is designed to offer high quality private bottle storage with more than 800 lockers, a private wine club membership, a members’ lounge and meeting-and-event spaces.

“We’re singlehandedly re-defining the social enjoyment of fine wine and networking for our esteemed guests, continuing in our commitment to international award-winning hospitality in our city,” says Nick Di Donato, president and CEO, LEG. “Our goal is to provide a place of inspiration and comfortable elegance for our members who share our recognized appreciation of fine wine and spirits, and we look forward to another exciting venture ahead.”

Located at Front and Bay Streets in the financial district, the Bovine Wine Club sits across the hall from Blue Bovine Steak and Sushi House. Bovine Wine Club members may book for the private lounge and bar common area which seats up to 75 guests — as well as a special event area seating up to 44, to host private events — with full access to Blue Bovine’s restaurant menu and customized as requested, under the watchful eye of executive chef Sean Blomeley. Bovine Wine Club’s team of award-winning sommeliers is available for all members to curate a personalized wine collection with accompanying educational tastings, and curate matching food-and-wine tastings or offer full beverage options for members’ events. Members will always know their wines are handled and served perfectly in delicate stemware and decanters provided.

The Bovine Wine Club features more than 2,500 sq. ft. of temperature and moisture-controlled cellars, available in an array of sizes, ranging from 36 to 144 bottles. The secure facility is kept at 15 degrees Celsius (59 degrees Fahrenheit), with 75 per cent relative humidity, 365 days a year to ensure optimal storage conditions. Members may ship their wines and new orders directly to the club, where staff will then securely receive and store them. The club also curates an optional quarterly wine shipment with wines hand-selected by their sommeliers and delivered with tasting notes and suggested wine parings. Each shipment is accompanied by a private wine dinner for all members, featuring the wines perfectly paired with a unique menu.

“Our extensive relationship with top wineries and distilleries globally means our members will have early access to the very best, rare and exceptional offerings, invitation-only winemakers’ dinners, tastings and private events,” adds James Peden, sommelier, and director of Operations, LEG. “We’ll be partnering with leading wine brands who are interested in engaging with our members for special offers to assist in establishing or enhancing unparalleled private collections. There’s simply no club like this in the city.”

Members that take advantage of the early access pricing that runs until October 1st, 2024 will pay no initiation fee, and receive a 50-per-cent discount on their annual membership; only the first and last month deposit for a locker are required to join.

The Club offers additional premium benefits for all members, including:

  • A locker in the executive wing
  • Exclusive corkage available at all Liberty Entertainment properties for members only
  • Complimentary corkage at Blue Bovine Steak & Sushi House
  • VIP access to preferred tables at all Liberty Group properties, including Michelin-starred Don Alfonso 1890, DaNico and BlueBlood Steakhouse
